Board of Directors

Pamela O’Connor

Pam O’Connor is a marketing communications consultant, with more than 10 years experience in agency, business and non-profit environments.  She launched her own business, Lionheart Communications, in 2000.  She currently serves as a consultant to SAS Institute in Cary. 

The O’Connors have a son with autism, and have been fortunate over the years to enjoy support and fellowship through the Wake County Autism Society.  By serving the organization, she hopes to help provide other families the hope and resources of WCAS.

Pam was a recipient of the Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award, recognizing innovative business leadership the Triangle.  She earned her Master of Science from the London School of Economics in the UK, and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

In addition to serving on the board of the Wake County Autism Society, Pam is a PTA liaison for children with special education needs.  She also served on the City of Raleigh’s arts grant panel, providing guidance to city leaders on allocation of arts funding.

Michele Lete

Michele Lete is the past-President and founder of the Wake County Autism Society. She has three children, one who lives with autism, and she has dedicated much of her time to making her son's and her family's lives easier by volunteering with the WCAS. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from North Carolina State University with a BA in Philosophy with a concentration of Law. Her career and life choices revolve around meeting the needs of individuals with special needs and their families.

Kristi Milowic, M.D.

Kristi Milowic is board certified in pediatrics and developmental-behavioral pediatrics. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX. Dr. Milowic currently works as a developmental and behavioral pediatrician at Raleigh Neurology Associates and as a UNC special infant care clinic developmental pediatrician. She has several publications, including "The High Risk Infant" chapter in the Macmillan Psychology Reference Series. She is a member of the Society of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics.

Thomas Swanson

Thomas Swanson is a CPA and works as a senior financial analyst in Research Triangle Park, NC. He has volunteered as the chief coordinator for United Way Campaign for Sprint Accounting Department. Mr. Swanson's achievements include the Elijah Watts Sells Award, the Won Come Together Award, and the Won Finance Excellence Award. Mr. Swanson received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina and has been a CPA for the past 15 years.
