Volunteer/donate

The WCAS is a non-profit organization which organizes and leads activities to benefit our community. We are always seeking (and needing) more people to volunteer their time to help plan, organize or lead support groups and events. If you are interested in volunteering or making a donation, please contact one of our officers or call (919) 459-2544.

The WCAS uses one hundred percent of the proceeds from donations and fundraisers to sponsor events or programs for individuals affected by autism. This year's funds have been distributed to a variety of special events sponsored or hosted by the WCC.

Programs for individuals with autism:

  • WCPSS swim program
  • Halloween and Christmas parties
  • Supported Living Homes holiday gifts
  • Special situations (crisis donations)
  • Teacher (special education) grants

Programs for parents and guardians:

  • Annual kick-off meeting
  • Special mini-conferences
  • Monthly newsletter
  • Website
  • Child care for support group meetings
  • Teacher appreciation dinner

Miscellaneous expenses:

  • Stationary costs for mailings, invitations, flyers and brochures
  • Drinks and snacks for support group meetings
  • Supplies for poster-making events, etc.
